Sky Sports golf correspondent Wayne Riley has shared the reception Scottie Scheffler recieved from his fellow professionals after being arrested upon his arrival to Valhalla this morning.
Per BBC Sport’s report, The Louisville Metropolitan Department of Correction posted a mugshot of the 27-year-old and said he was booked in at 7:28 am local time and was released at 8:40 am.
It’s understood Scheffler was stopped by an officer after misunderstanding the traffic flow heading to the venue.
Louisville Metro Police Department confirmed the traffic was caused due to a pedestrian being struck and killed by a shuttle bus outside the golf club.

Scheffler’s tee time was pushed back to 15:08 BST, and the two-time Masters champion is now at the course ahead of the second round.
Speaking on Sky Sports coverage of the PGA Championship, Riley shared the latest.
He said: “It was very positive as he walked over the bridge, next to the putting green, onto the range. The reception was phenomenal for Scottie, with full support, and as he got on to the range himself, he was met by the players. It was such a family atmosphere and support for Scottie. Look, we’ll get through this, and we’ll all get through it together. It was such a pleasure to witness it.”
Riley also revealed that Scheffler appeared to be acting as if things were normal.
“He just had smiles. Thank you very much,” he added. “He just went on to the range and found his spot. I found Randy Smith, his long-term coach, and his caddy, Ted.
“As soon as he got here, he familiarly put his left hand on the grip and checked the grip, and he is still doing the same thing. It’s business as usual. But the reception was just loving. Jon Rahm was the first one next to him, and he didn’t say a word; he just gave him a wink and a great acknowledgement.”
Scottie Scheffler going low at Valhalla on day two would be remarkable
Considering what Scheffler has been through in the lead-up to his round, it would be remarkable if he managed to post another low score on day two.
Currently, the world number one is on four under, five shots adrift of Xander Schauffele, who tees off later on into the second day.
The 27-year-old will be looking to lower his heart rate and escape onto the course as quickly as possible. Right now, if there’s one man who is more than capable of posting a low score after enduring such an eventful morning, it’s Scheffler.
Although the PGA will come under scrutiny, the authorities deserve credit for pushing his tee time back in order for his participation in the year’s second major to continue.
