Scottie Scheffler made his return to the PGA Tour at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and is now in the field for the WM Phoenix Open.
Rory McIlroy has taken notice of Scheffler’s feats in recent times, which last year involved seven PGA Tour titles.
Eddie Pepperell thinks McIlroy wants to have Scheffler’s discipline, although it was the Northern Irishman who emerged victorious at Pebble Beach.
McIlroy finished on 21-under in California to clinch his first win of the 2025 season, with Scheffler finishing T9 on 15-under.
Scheffler headlines the field for the next event in the PGA Tour schedule, which takes place at TPC Scottsdale in Arizona.

Watch as Scottie Scheffler masters iconic WM Phoenix Open 16th hole
The Stadium Course famously involves one of the most boisterous holes in world golf, with the par-three 16th having played host to many iconic moments over the years.
And world number one Scheffler has been doing his best to get to grips with the 163-yard hole, having taken on it and indeed the crowd in a practice round at TPC Scottsdale.
As per TaylorMade, the American received a very warm welcome from fans when approaching the tee, with Scheffler not disappointing them by landing his first effort just a few feet away from the hole.
He then handled the pressure and the noise expertly to sink his ensuing putt, much to the delight of those watching on from the stands.

Footage of Scheffler taking in other holes at TPC Scottsdale was also captured, with TaylorMade referencing his number one ranking for Strokes Gained: Approach at last week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
He looks in great shape despite missing the start of the season with a hand injury, having required surgery after cutting it on broken glass.
In fact, the world number one boasts the best average in SG: Approach the Green by some margin at 1.725, with McIlroy 19th with a figure of 0.868.
| Rank | Player | Average | Total SG: App | Measured rounds |
