LIV Golf’s latest superstar signing, Jon Rahm, has spoken out in response to the latest comments from Rory McIlroy about the future of golf.
McIlory was on a recent episode of Stick of Football with Gary Neville and while on there, spoke at length about the current situation with the LIV and PGA Tours.

His comments have provided a flurry of different reactions. LIV figurehead Greg Norman accused the Northern Irishman of ‘falling on his sword’, while Eddie Pepperell admitted he was in full agreement with everything McIlroy had said.
And adding to the conversation today on The Jim Rome Show, Masters champion Rahm has had his say.
Jon Rahm speaks out on Rory McIlory’s latest comments
Speaking about McIlroy, Rahm quite maturely moved to ease things and instead of causing any anguish, he had praise for McIlroy.
“I mean I think it has de-escalated the tension. Rory is a fantastic player who has taken on a lot. It takes a lot of maturity and it takes a lot to step back and voice out when you have been wrong especially with a worldwide audience like he has,” Rahm said.
“So, he’s been a great friend of mine. His reaction was very positive. Obviously I’m sad and he’s sad that we’re not going to be competing together directly all year round but he’s a good friend who has continued to be a good friend.”
McIlroy has made a lightning start to the season, firing in a superb nine under-par opening round in the Dubai Invitational today.
Like Rahm, McIlroy is searching to win a green jacket this year and has admitted he’s very much working towards that tournament in Augusta this year.
Rahm, meanwhile, will be hoping to blaze a trail when he gets the LIV season underway after becoming their biggest signing so far.
