Sam Burns got a truly horrific break during the final round of the US Open at Oakmont.
And the USGA are being hammered by golf fans for a call they made that really hindered Burns down the stretch at the US Open.
The 28-year-old from Louisiana led by one heading into the final round at Oakmont, but he fell off massively on Sunday, as did everyone else at the top of the leaderboard.
US Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley raved about Sam Burns earlier in the week at the US Open.
And he really was mightily impressive all week long.

However, Burns will be feeling physically sick right now, after the truly shocking break that he received during the final round of the US Open.
It was simply mind-boggling how the USGA refused to give him relief from casual water midway through his back nine on Sunday.
USGA slammed after Sam Burns gets ‘screwed’ at the US Open
After finding the fairway on the 15th hole, Burns was refused a free drop despite standing in casual water.
He went on to pull his shot to the left of the green and eventually made a double bogey, thus ending his chances of winning the US Open title.
It was a baffling call from the USGA at the time, and golf fans let them know about it.
One golf fan said, “Horrible decision against Sam Burns. Two dummies won’t give relief. Did you see that splash. NOT FAIR.“
Meanwhile, another fan suggested that Burns was unfairly treated, “Burns got badly treated by officials there. A joke he was told to hit the ball out of water.“
While a third fan vented his fury at the USGA, “If Sam Burns was Adam Scott he would of got a drop there.“
A fourth golf fan said, “How did Burns not get a free drop there?? His ball was in a swimming pool!“
While a fifth fan said, “How do your rules officials not give Burns a drop? That was horrible call.“
Then a sixth fan said, “Sam Burns deserved a drop there. I can’t believe the USGA didn’t grant him one.“

While a seventh fan labelled the decision as ridiculous, “Burns just got screwed.. How does he not get a drop there?? Ridiculous.“
Before an eighth golf fan said, “What a ridiculous decision. San Burns had to get a drop there he was in a literal water hazard.“
The USGA have a lot to answer for after that shambolic decision.
It is not an exaggeration to say that that call cost Burns the chance to win the US Open on Sunday.
Picture emerges from Oakmont showing where Burns was forced to play from
Burns was treated so unfairly on the 15th.
The USGA must realise now that their bizarre decision was the wrong one.
Just look at the lie Burns had to contend with due to the water that had gathered around his ball.
Burns has every right to be apoplectic with the USGA after his treatment on the final day at the US Open.
And if there are golfing Gods of any kind, the five-time PGA Tour winner will surely be handed some good luck in another major somewhere down the line.
