Tyrrell Hatton produced one of the rounds of the season as he shot 64 on day three of the BMW PGA Championship to go into the final day just two off the pace.
Hatton produced some big shots and even bigger putts to close to within two of the leaders, Adrien Saddier and Alex Noren.
Saddier himself shot an impressive 65 but Hatton’s 64, in front of the home crowd in the UK, was more exciting and given how far back he was after round two, it was a delight to watch.
Hatton was seven off the pace as day three got underway.
However, he showed why he’s part of Luke Donald’s Ryder Cup team once again and he’s been reacting to his performance.

Tyrrell Hatton says if he can win the BMW PGA Championship
The anger was very much kept in check for Tyrrell Hatton this time and it showed in his game, with some effortlessly brilliant golf shots.
Now, with a two shot deficit to make up on day four, Hatton has told the media just how he felt his game was, while predicting if he can actually win.
“Yeah, it was a good day’s work. Got off to a little bit of a slow start. But yeah, the last ten holes was great. Gave myself plenty of opportunities, and it’s always nice to see putts going in,” Hatton commented.
“I was trying to think of the hole I was on before the last leaderboard I had seen before 18. I might have been ten at the time, 10-under. Leader might have been Viktor at 14; saw that I was four behind. I knew that there was opportunities at the end, if you can hit the right shots, and thankful I was able to hit it in fairly close on the last few and see the putts go in.”
Pressed on whether he thinks he can win and fulfil a lifelong dream of winning at Wentworth, Hatton admitted there is plenty of work to be done but feels he can be in the mix.
“Yeah, I’m excited for tomorrow. I’m sure it depends what the guys out on the golf course, how they finish their rounds. Hopefully I won’t be too far behind.
“And yeah, I’ll go out there tomorrow and give it my best, and hopefully it will be a good day.”
Tyrrell Hatton can cap a big 2025 by winning at Wentworth
Tyrrell Hatton is often forgotten about as one of the world’s best due to being on LIV Golf but when he’s on song, few can match him.
We all know the next step for Hatton is to win a major but winning something like the BMW PGA would go a long way to helping him get the confidence needed.
In 2025, Hatton has had a fine year, winning the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour, collecting three top ten finishes on the LIV circuit, while his form in the majors has been good with T14, T16 and a T4 at the US Open only ruined by a T60 at the PGA.
Nevertheless, it has been a fine year for the Englishman and if he can win this one, it will cap things off just nicely ahead of the Ryder Cup.
