Tommy Fleetwood returns to the course this week at the BMW PGA Championship, where he will be joined by the majority of his European Ryder Cup teammates.
Sepp Straka will miss the BMW PGA Championship, but the other 11 European Ryder Cup players will be present at Wentworth.
And they enter the tournament in winning form, with Rory McIlroy having just triumphed at last week’s Irish Open at The K Club.
Fleetwood meanwhile won the Tour Championship at East Lake last month, ending his lengthy wait for a maiden PGA Tour win.
His focus now turns to the DP World Tour, which the Englishman is using as part of his preparations for the upcoming Ryder Cup.

Tommy Fleetwood raves about ‘really good’ European Ryder Cup player
McIlroy and Fleetwood qualified automatically for Luke Donald’s team in first and third respectively, either side of Robert MacIntyre.
And Fleetwood has now spoken of the Scot, having been asked in his latest press conference how MacIntyre has progressed since they played together in Abu Dhabi in 2019, and indeed since the 2023 Ryder Cup.

“Yeah, when you’re playing with people, it’s not that hard to spot, like, talent, when people are playing,” replied Fleetwood.
“There’s players that come out, and when you’re out on tour and playing with them, you judge them as the golfer they are.
“You can’t judge them as a 20-year-old or 21-year-old. I think Bob was that for me. I think I said he was a very all-around accomplished golfer at that time, and it’s not hard to spot a very good talent when you see it.
“Bob, his growth, it’s been really, really good. He won twice on the PGA Tour last year. Again, unbelievably consistent year, and I think those steps… you watch how he competed in the majors, and it’s funny, last fall at the US Open, the three-putted… Bob would have been the US Open champion. The margins are so small.

“But the fact that he’s there and competing shows he’s one of the best players in the world, and you look at where he is now, such an asset to the European Team in the Ryder Cup and such a great person to have on the golf course and the team room.
“Yeah, Bob just continues to grow from strength to strength, and as a fellow European player or friend or colleague that’s out with him week-in, week-out, he’s one of those guys that you enjoy being around, and you enjoy someone that motivates you, as well.”
What is Robert MacIntyre’s form heading into the Ryder Cup?
Just like Fleetwood, MacIntyre had a season to remember on the PGA Tour, although he did fall short of another title.
The Scot finished as runner-up on two occasions, one of which arrived at the US Open at Oakmont Country Club.
He made 23 starts in total in the 2025 PGA Tour season, making the cut 21 times and claiming six top 10 finishes.
Such form certainly bodes well for Donald and Team Europe, who boast a very strong team for Bethpage Black.
| Year | Tournament | Score | Margin of victory | Runner-up |
| 2024 | RBC Canadian Open | −16 (64-66-66-68=264) | 1 stroke | Ben Griffin |
| 2024 | Genesis Scottish Open | −18 (67-65-63-67=262) | 1 stroke | Adam Scott |
Now set for his second appearance, MacIntyre made his Ryder Cup debut in 2023, leaving Rome with an impressive 2-0-1 record.
But this week he’s back on the DP World Tour, where he has three wins, one more than his current PGA Tour tally.
