Keegan Bradley was the surprise choice of captain for Team USA at the 2025 Ryder Cup and Tiger Woods has shared his view on Bradley featuring as a playing captain.
Bradley was one of the top players on the PGA Tour in 2024 and finished 21st in the FedEx Cup standings after a win, two runner-ups, and just four missed cuts in 22 events.
In any other year, Bradley would be a near guaranteed pick for Team USA but with so much to do as captain, Bradley has a big call to make.
Of course, one man who knows about captaining as a player is Tiger Woods. The 15-time major winner has done it in Presidents Cups and he’s had his say on Bradley’s selection and dilemma.

Tiger Woods gives verdict on Keegan Bradley as Ryder Cup captain
Speaking about the upcoming Ryder Cup and Bradley’s captaincy, Woods has suggested that Bradley is in fact the perfect fit for Bethpage.
“To where he is from and what he has meant to the North East, it’s a natural fit. He is not really that old, so most of the guys he has played with and is playing a lot with. He has naturally been a very emotional, fiery and opinionated leader. I think he will do really well at Bethpage,” Woods said.
Asked further on his own chances of being the captain before Bradley was named, Woods admitted there was discussions.
“There was quite a bit of talk! I have a few things going on with boards that we need to get handled,” Woods added.
Tiger Woods speaks on Keegan Bradley as a playing captain
There is still very much a chance that Bradley plays in the Ryder Cup himself, given his active status on the TOUR and his form in general.
However, Woods admits that it’s a tall order for any player after doing it at the Presidents Cup.
“He could sneak himself in there and either get on the team and just do what I did and force himself as a pick! Was it ever [difficult], I had incredible guys and just did not sleep! There was quite a bit of jet lag but there was a lot of responsibility, as a player and as a captain.”
It seems inevitable that Woods will be Ryder Cup captain at some point in the near future but for now, he’ll very much be lending an ear to Bradley if he needs it.
