Tiger Woods says whether he would break 55 if he got to play from the forward tees

Many golf fans view Tiger Woods as the greatest of all time.

And if you don’t, Woods is undoubtedly inside the top two alongside Jack Nicklaus.

The 49-year-old has a record-equalling 82 PGA Tour wins to his name including an incredible 15 major championships.

Woods could have won even more majors, and undoubtedly would have, if he managed to remain injury-free throughout his career.

Gary Player recently said Woods was the great golfer of all time, but admitted that Nicklaus enjoyed a better career due to his tally of major wins.

There is no question that the 49-year-old completely changed the face of golf as we once knew it due to his exceptional ability and marketable nature.

However, in his prime, would he have been able to shoot 18-under par or lower if he was given the chance to play from the front tees?

Woods recently took part in a Q&A session for the Jupiter Links Golf Club YouTube channel.

The 15-time major champion was asked whether he was older or younger than 13 when he first shot under par.

He responded: “I was younger than that.“

Woods was then asked if he thinks he’d shoot over or under 55 if he was allowed to play from the forward tees?

Without hesitation, the 82-time PGA Tour winner said: “Over.“

Would he beat Max Homa three out of five times?

Tiger said: “I’d beat him all three.“

What about his most memorable win?

Woods responded: “97 Masters.“

If Tiger Woods could only use one club during a round, what would it be?

Woods is well known for being one of the most creative and imaginative shot-shapers in the professional game.

But which club would Tiger use if he was only allowed one to play a round with?

He said: “5-iron. Because I grew up with a 7-iron and I would make a 7-iron do everything from putt, chip to drive. But if I had my druthers and I had to hit it further, a 5-iron reaches more par fours and I could always open it up and putt with it.“

Wouldn’t it be great to see Woods attempt this challenge? Let’s say he was only allowed to use a 5-iron around Augusta National.
