Tiger Woods is teeing it up this week at Valhalla and he’s had some words of advice for current world number one, Scottie Scheffler.

Scheffler himself is taking part in the PGA Championship after having his first child last week with wife Meredith.

That has put to bed any talk that he might not be competing at Valhalla and he will go into the tournament having won four of the last five events he has competed in.

However, Scheffler will also be going into this week as a new dad for the first time. And quite whether that will impact anything, remains to be seen.

But regardless, former world number one and father of two Tiger Woods has had some words of advice for Scheffler.

Tiger Woods shares what Scottie Scheffler needs to do now he’s just become a father

Speaking in and interview with CBS ahead of the PGA Championship, Woods had some experienced advice for the world number one.

“Get some sleep…”, Woods chirped jokingly.

“He’s got, obviously he and Meredith it’s fantastic having their first and those are some tough years ahead of them, as all of us who have had children know.

“As I said, try and get some rest, as much as you can. He’s the number one player in the world and having a great stable family life at home is important to having a great life out here on tour.”

Scheffler will manage just fine

These are some nice words from Woods and it’s nice to hear him in good spirits and offering up a little nugget of advice for Scheffler.

Of course, the perils of having children can affect everyone, even the world number one in a particular sport.

But Scheffler has enough money to make things a touch easier and he’ll have plenty of time for rest when he’s flying to and from events in luxury.

Still, it could have some sort of impact somewhere down the line. But Scheffler seems so focussed most of the time that it would be a big surprise if it affected his actual golf game too much.
