Scottie Scheffler is back in action this week at the Hero World Challenge, a tournament hosted by Tiger Woods.
The Albany Golf Course in The Bahamas plays host to the event, which Scheffler won in both 2023 and 2024.
Woods has won the Hero World Challenge on five occasions, but he isn’t in the field for this year’s edition.
Only 20 players will take on the tournament, with world number one Scheffler joined by the likes of Keegan Bradley and Jordan Spieth.

Tiger Woods praises ‘amazing’ Scottie Scheffler ahead of the Hero World Challenge
While Woods isn’t playing, the legendary figure has spoken ahead of the tournament getting underway on Thursday.
And somewhat unsurprisingly, he discussed Scheffler, of whom Woods said: “There is nothing that you can not like about Scottie.
“He is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. What he is doing on the course is incredible. The consistency day in and day out.
“The strategy and how he attacks a golf course. You can see him analyse it from the green back, where the flag is, what club he wants to hit, where the wind is, what side of the tee box he is going to start off on.
Who will win the Hero World Challenge?
“It’s truly amazing how thoughtful and how strategic he is throughout the entire round. On top of that he doesn’t have lapses like most players do. He is there, present, for all 18 holes and all shots played and that’s hard to do.
“To do that day in and day out with the gruelling schedule that the tour has and the players are playing now, in more of a condensed season and they are big events he is playing in.
“He has won six times and they are not small events. He is beating the best fields. That is something I can appreciate and I hope that everyone else appreciates it as well, because you don’t see that happening very often.”
The part of Scottie Scheffler’s game that Tiger Woods loves watching
Scheffler has dominated the world of golf for some time now, much like his fellow American Woods did in his prime.
The current world number one claimed six wins on the PGA Tour this season, twice as many as any other player.

Discussing the specific part of Scheffler’s game that he really appreciates, Woods said: “I truly love watching him hit irons.
“The shots that he hits, the trajectory and the window changes that he has. The distance control and miss in the proper spot. The proper spin to certain pin locations.
“These are subtle things that mean a lot over the course of 72 holes. That to me is impressive. If you don’t have trajectory control then you can’t have distance control.
“To see him move it up and down in different windows and use wind, fight wind and control spin is fun to watch.”

Scheffler’s superb iron play has played a key role in his recent success, with two major championship wins among his honors in 2025.
He emerged victorious at the PGA Championship and The Open Championship, taking his career major win tally to four.
