Those of a certain age will remember the old PGA Tour logo which read: ‘These Guys are Good’.

The best PGA Tour players including the likes of Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy make the game look incredibly easy.

However, even those who don’t make a name for themselves on the leaderboards are seriously good golfers.

There are players on the Korn Ferry Tour who are unbelievably talented as well, including John Keefer who is currently ranked 51st in the world.

Any player who competes regularly on the PGA Tour has serious talent, even if they have struggled for prolonged periods of time.

One player has just proven exactly that by winning his local Club Championship.

Three-time PGA Tour winner triumphs at local Club Championship

Brendon Todd has achieved huge success throughout his career, with three PGA Tour wins and two Korn Ferry Tour triumphs to his name.

The 40-year-old has barely played on the PGA Tour this season.

In fact, he hasn’t competed in an event since March at the Cognizant Classic.

However, he proved he’s still got it this weekend just gone.

Todd was victorious in the Club Championship at Athens Country Club in Georgia – his home club.

Todd shot rounds of 68, 73 and 70 to win the Club Championship.

The 40-year-old won the 54-hole tournament by five strokes, and finished on five-under par.

Some would suggest that he shouldn’t really have been allowed to play against amateur golfers in the first place, but the key point here is that the members most likely would have had to sign off on his entry into the competition.

What has happened to PGA Tour player Brendon Todd after playing only five events in 2025

Back in 2018, Todd had actually considered giving up the game altogether, having missed 37 of 40 PGA Tour cuts.

However, he kept on plugging away and got his rewards in the end. That said, he has experienced real struggles once again over the past 12 months.

Todd only played five PGA Tour events in 2025, with a 78th finish at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am his best result.

The 40-year-old has been suffering with injury problems and a serious case of poor form.

He knows himself how good he is, with three PGA Tour wins on his résumé coming at the 2014 HP Byron Nelson Championship, and the Bermuda Championship and the Mayakoba Golf Classic, both in 2019.

And his 54-hole score of five-under par at Athens Country Club in Georgia over the weekend proves that he is still a very capable golfer.

Whether that will translate to success on the PGA Tour again for Todd remains to be seen, though.
