The US Open will soon be upon us and there’s a bucket loads of big names who will fancy their chances of winning.
After Xander Schauffele took the win at Valhalla last weekend in the PGA Championship, eyes are now turning towards the US Open at Pinehurst.
The actual tournament will be played at Pinehurst Number Two, and there’ll be a big group of both PGA and LIV Golf players who fancy the win.
Of course, among the players looking to pick up the win will be a cluster of younger players.
The game of golf seems blessed with a host of emerging talents right now under the age of 25 across the whole world.
With that in mind, here are THREE golfers under the age of 25 who could genuinely go on and win the US Open at Pinehurst.
Ludvig Aberg
There are a number of top young players in golf at the moment but none seem more ready to really take the world by storm than Ludvig Aberg.
The 24-year-old has already registered a win on the PGA Tour and was part of Europe’s dominating Ryder Cup win against the US last year as well.
Aberg produced a brilliant performance at The Masters to finish outright second behind Scottie Scheffler and his golf at Augusta showed he can deliver.
Aberg, then, is one to watch in a few weeks.
Akshay Bhatia
One of the youngest players on tour and one of the younger winners in more recent times, Akshay Bhatia is a man on the up in the world of golf.
He won the Texas Open in a playoff against Denny McCarthy a few weeks back and that added to the win he’d already picked up back in 2023 at The Barracuda.
Bhatia, at just 22, is very much a force to be reckoned with.
And while he’s missed the cut at the Charles Schwab this week, he’ll very much be hoping to make a big impression at Pinehurst.
Tom Kim
Few players in the world of golf have lit up the field in recent years quite like Tom Kim.
Still only 21, the South Korean native is one of the most exciting talents in the whole of golf and he’s already picked up three wins on the PGA Tour.
Kim has also turned up in the majors as well. A second placed finish at The Open in 2023 alongside an eighth place at the US Open very much showed his credentials at the very top.
This year, his performances at the Masters and the PGA – 26th and 30th – have been a tad underwhelming.
But he’s made the cut both times and in terms of the young guns going for US Open glory, Kim is very much in the conversation.
