The Showdown 2024 date and time
The Showdown 2024 takes place on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. The tee time has not yet been announced but it is expected to be around 6.30 p.m. Eastern Time.
The next tournament on the PGA Tour is in three weeks and LIV Golf Jeddah isn’t until February so this is the biggest event in golf for a while.
How to watch The Showdown 2024 (US)
TNT has broadcast all previous editions of The Match and they also have the rights for Tuesday’s event. Coverage will begin at 6 p.m. (ET) and should end between 10 p.m. and midnight.
Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson, 2008 Masters winner Trevor Immelman and NBA legend Charles Barkley are all involved in some capacity.
What is The Showdown 2024 format?
The Showdown is an 18-hole matchplay competition between the two pairs with three different scoring systems. The match will conclude as soon as there is a winner.
Holes 1-6 – Fourballs
Every player plays their own ball but only the lowest score in each pair counts.
Holes 7-12 – Foursomes
The pairs take turns hitting shots with the same ball until the hole is completed.
Holes 13-18 – Singles
One versus one e.g. McIlroy vs Koepka and Scheffler vs DeChambeau. The singles matchups have not been revealed.
