YouTube content creator Rick Shiels recently signed a deal with LIV Golf.

Shiels is the biggest and most famous YouTube golfer in the world.

The qualified PGA professional says that he plays to around a one or two handicap these days, and he gets the chance to play some of the most prestigious courses in the world.

The 38-year-old often uses his platform to try and effect positive change in the game of golf.

Shiels recently suggested that the PGA Championship should become a global event, in an effort to bring some prestige back to the tournament.

However, his main priority is creating quality content for his YouTube subscribers.

And he did exactly that earlier this week at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club ahead of LIV Virginia.

The LIV Golf tour headed to Virginia earlier this week.

The tournament was held at the highly regarded Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.

The pros have been making mincemeat of the course this week, but it obviously is a very stringent challenge for mere mortals.

Shiels got a chance to play the course earlier this week.

He took his ‘Break 75’ series to Virginia, as he attempted to shoot three-over par or better around the par 71 layout.

So how did he get on?

What Rick Shiels shot ahead of LIV Virginia

Shiels carded a round of eight-over par 79 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.

It was yet further evidence of just how good the tour pros are because, let’s face it, Shiels isn’t a bad golfer at all in his own right.

The Robert Trent Jones Golf Club is very long and can be stretched out to around 7,400 yards.

The rough is incredibly thick and the greens are undulating and extremely fast.

The 79 from Shiels wasn’t a bad score at all, but he obviously would have liked to shoot lower.
