Tiger Woods might be being tipped to be captain of the USA Ryder Cup team in 2025 but as yet, there’s no sign of a confirmation from the legendary golf star.
Woods has been offered the chance to lead the fightback for the US in Bethpage next year.
After being essentially embarrassed in Rome and question marks raised about the captaincy of Zach Johnson, the US team are moving on as they look to rectify everything they saw in 2023.
Of course, offering the captaincy to Woods – a 15-time major winner and widely regarded as the greatest player ever – is the biggest call they could make.
However, as it stands, Woods hasn’t officially accepted the invite and according to reports, there’s good reason.

According to a report from The Telegraph, Woods has been in no rush to make the decision as he focusses on matters off the course.
First off, he is launching his Sun Day Red clothing line this week to the public and has been doing the media rounds on that front. Second, he’s also launched the inaugural TGL golf league.
According to The Telegraph, Woods has not wanted to distract from those two talking points by committing to a decision on the Ryder Cup captaincy.
Indeed, it’s even suggested that nobody will know until after the PGA Championship in a few weeks.
Luke Donald and co, then, will need to be patient before finding out who their opposition is.

The USGA are not going to be pushing him for a decision knowing that he might take it at some point.
To get back on track, team USA need the best leader they can get and in Woods, they’d be getting a man who is obsessed with winning.
The hope will be that Woods’ aura and will to win rubs off on the rest of team USA and that they can put away the problems from Rome to take home the trophy again.
But for now, Woods is under no pressure to make a decision and with other things going on in his life, he’ll take all the time he needs before making an announcement.
