The PGA Tour player who has shocked Shane Lowry and Wyndham Clark with how good he is at chipping

Shane Lowry has often been considered one of the best players around the green on the PGA Tour, with the Irishman traditionally comfortable to produce whatever shot he needs with the same wedge in his bag.

Obviously, you do not win an Open Championship without being an outstanding short game player. Shane Lowry is a top 20 player in the world right now, finishing second to Rory McIlroy at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Like Lowry, Wyndham Clark is a major champion – having won the US Open in 2023. Meanwhile, the strongest part of Clark’s game at the beginning of the 2025 season has been around the greens, when it comes to where he ranks on the PGA Tour.

But it seems that both men have been left blown away by another player.

The Bay have been the pace-setters in TGL, winning all four of their matches so far. Their latest victory came on Tuesday night as they beat Jupiter Links to return to the top of the table.

Lowry and Clark have played important roles in their campaign, very much embracing the format. But it was Min Woo Lee who seemed to steal the show on Tuesday.

The Australian chipped in early on, while another chip lipped out. The latter left both Clark and Lowry in a heap on the green as they were both stunned by the 26-year-old’s touch.

And speaking after the match, Clark and Lowry were asked whether there is anyone on tour they would rather have over a chip shot.

“I mean, no. Honestly, I’m at the point where I’m going to start taking lessons from him,” Clark said.

“I knew he could chip but I didn’t realise he was this good,” Lowry added.

“It’s a joke. It’s unbelievable,” Clark replied.

Where Min Woo Lee actually ranks inside the top 10 on the PGA Tour

It has felt like the game of golf has been waiting for some time now for the moment Lee takes that next step in his career and wins on the PGA Tour.

Lee has, for a while, been considered one of the most exciting players in the game. He won the Scottish Open on the DP World Tour back in 2021, and he hits the ball an absolute mile.

In fact, Lee is seventh on the PGA Tour for driving distance at the start of the year, averaging over 320 yards.

Clearly, if he is able to put everything together, those PGA Tour wins will not be too far away.
