Taylor Pendrith and Adam Scott were among the international players to produce the goods for Mike Weir on a stunning second day at the Presidents Cup.
Pendrith and Scott saw off Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala 5&4 to ensure they were part of what is looking like being a memorable comeback.
The Internationals found themselves 5-0 down after the opening day in Montreal yesterday.
Going into the round, Mike Weir had come in for criticism for dropping Tom Kim and Min Woo Lee to the side-lines.
However, Weir got it spot on and after Hideki Matsuyama and Sungjae Im hammered Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay, the rest of Team ‘INT’ followed suit.
Scott and Pendrith both played brilliantly and after walking off the 14th after their win, they were full of praise for Mike Weir’s stance last night.

Taylor Pendrith explains what Mike Weir said after nightmare opening day of the Presidents Cup
Speaking to Sky Sports immediately after the round, both Scott and Pendrith were quick to praise captain Weir and revealed what had been said last night.
“I think we just listened to Mike and the other assistants and took the positives of how close it was. We didn’t get deflated. We came out and knew we were playing well and we felt that earlier in the week,. We just had to get on with it today. There’s a lot of fight in this team, we are not going to go away,” Scott said initially.
Then, pressed on the message from Weir, Pendrith revealed it was all positive from the skipper despite being five down.
“He just said we are right there. A lot of the matches were closer than they looked on paper and just to keep fighting.
“I think three matches went to 18 and were decided there, so we were right there and we just needed to come out today with our best stuff and be a bit cleaner. We had a great bus ride home and the spirits were high and that did us well today.”

With both the four-balls and foursomes to come tomorrow, the Internationals will feel they have a very realistic chance of going into Sunday either tied or even leading.
Quite whether Mike Weir will go with the same pairings or switch things up again, remains to be seen.
But with two separate formats in the day, we’re likely to see both Tom Kim and Min Woo Lee back involved at some point.
