Cam Young faced Justin Rose in the Ryder Cup Sunday singles at Bethpage Black last year.
Young won a point for Team USA in dramatic fashion after making birdie on the final hole against Rose on Ryder Cup Sunday at Bethpage.
After their match, Young admitted he was shocked to be all square with Rose standing on the 18th tee, having led comfortably right up until the Englishman won the 13th hole.
Rose hit an exceptional shot from the trees on the 13th, getting up and down from no man’s land and reducing Young’s lead back to 2 up in the process.

It was a remarkable fightback from Rose, as he reminded everyone who was watching on their TV screens the world over why he is such a good match-play competitor.
The same can be said for Young, though. After Rose hauled himself back into the match, it would have been easy for the American’s head to drop.
However, the man from Scarborough, New York, never allowed that to happen.

Anyone who watched the battle between Young and Rose at Bethpage in September will remember the sheer quality of the match.
Both golfers displayed some sensational golf and combined for a best-ball score of 8-under par 62.
However, Young got the better of Rose in the end and now he has admitted that something the Englishman did just before hitting his putt on the 18th hole left him in genuine disbelief.
When speaking on the Smylie Show, Young responded when asked how he felt before he rolled in his putt to beat Rose at Bethpage.
“Yeah, I didn’t know I was gonna make it,“ Young admitted.
“I felt like I had a good read, and I felt like I was in a position to hit a good putt, so it was just kind of up to what happened.
“It kind of hit me, when he was set up over the ball, I was pretty sure he was not close with his read.
“I just I remember him setting up to and I was like, ‘All day, it’s looked like it’s gonna go in and that one just didn’t to me.
“Sometimes just from a different angle, you can kind of tell. It was one of those.
“I was kind of in disbelief, I was like, ‘Either I’m nuts, or that’s not that’s not going in, and I’m gonna have a putt to win this match’.
“So he does end up missing, like, a cup left.“
Young felt comfortable with his read on the 18th green while Rose clearly didn’t and it’s amazing to think that the outcome of their match was determined by those two factors.

Young finally got the monkey off his back in August last year, winning his first ever PGA Tour event at the Wyndham Championship on the 94th time of asking.
He then displayed his undeniable quality under the most intense pressure during the Ryder Cup.

Young proved that he can perform under the gun and now the challenge for him will be to replicate the form he showed at Bethpage on the PGA Tour and in the major championships.
The 28-year-old American possesses explosive power and when he’s on, his iron play can be matched by few in the game.
He also putted beautifully all week long at Bethpage Black.
Young was second in strokes gained total out of all 24 players during the Ryder Cup, and that proves that all aspects of his game are very much elite.
