Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy are continuing to battle away at The Zurich Classic this weekend and have a big chance of success.
Going into today’s final round, McIlroy and Lowry are 21 under par between them and have a huge chance of succeeding at their first attempt together.
Among the pairings in New Orleans this week, McIlroy and Lowry are the star attraction really and it would be quite something if they do come out on top and win the day.
Of course, to win out they’re going to need to play some excellent golf and arguably, they might need McIlroy to produce some of his very best moments.
Indeed, speaking to the press yesterday after their third round, Lowry was quick to credit McIlroy with getting their round going.

Shane Lowry shares how Rory McIlroy got them going at The Zurich Classic
Speaking to the media in the popular flash interviews after round three, Lowry admitted that it was McIlroy who really got the pairing some momentum.
“I knew we had a lot of holes to play but certainly when we were only one under through six and a long way down the leaderboard I knew we needed to get something going. Like Rory said, I think that the six iron into nine and the odd roll to putt in, I think that did get us going. From there on in it was Rory McIlroy at his best and it was a joy to watch,” Lowry said.
McIlroy and Lowry get their final round underway this evening (UK Time) and will play the alternate shot format to finish off the tournament.
They are among a cluster of players more than 20 under par and know that a big round is going to be needed.
But if anyone can do it, it’s two of Europe’s best and if they do win it, it will be a marquee moment for the PGA Tour.
