Shane Lowry is flying high at the Dubai Invitational this week, and he heads into the weekend tied for the lead on five-under-par alongside Nacho Elvira.
And when talking about the DP World Tour‘s Dubai Invitational this week, Lowry made a huge claim about the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am over on the PGA Tour.
The 2025 was a memorable one for Lowry, after he made a hole-in-one on the famous par-three seventh hole.
The 38-year-old Irishman has enjoyed a fabulous career to date.
Should Bryson DeChambeau leave LIV Golf in 2026?
Lowry won The Open in 2019 and has played on three Ryder Cup teams – two of them successful.
Now he will be looking to rediscover his very best form during the 2026 season.
Shane Lowry makes Pebble Beach Pro-Am claim after day two in Dubai
Lowry was delighted with his second round 68 in Dubai on Friday.
One of the reasons why he has played so well at Dubai Creek Resort, in his own words, is the fact that he feels so relaxed.
When speaking to reporters after his second round, he shared his true feelings about the Dubai Invitational.
“It’s great. I said, you might have the best Pro-Am in the world,“ Lowry said.

“Although it’s a bit windy, it’s better weather than Dunhill and less stressful than Pebble Beach.
“Lovely to be out there with a few friends and enjoy my golf.“
That is quite the claim from Lowry.
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is one of the most highly-revered tournaments in world golf.
However, it’s clear to see that Lowry enjoys playing in Dubai much more than he does on the Monterrey Peninsula.
Shane Lowry has learned a big lesson at the Dubai Invitational
Lowry spoke about how he feels about the current state of his game heading into the 2026 season.
“Yeah, very happy,“ Lowry insisted.
What’s the biggest reason you don’t watch LIV Golf?
“It was hard. It was tricky. You know, like that putt on the last hole, you don’t hole a lot of putts like that, and I did well. I did a good job.
“A couple sloppy mistakes on the front nine, but I was playing good and giving myself chances.
“Just had a great day out there. I really enjoyed it. I had a great group.
“Two great amateurs, and yeah, it was — playing golf in a good frame of mind makes it a little bit easier. That’s sort of a little lesson for me for the rest of the season.
“If I play golf like that for the rest of the season, in that frame of mind, I’ll be pretty good.“
It sounds like having fun will be the key to Shane Lowry playing well in 2026. And there aren’t many golfers who do that better than the Irishman!
