Sergio Garcia is doing some player recruitment work for LIV Golf during the off-season, it seems.
Garcia was one of the first players to leave the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf way back in June 2022.
The 46-year-old Spaniard has two LIV Golf wins to his name since he joined the Saudi-backed league.
Garcia is one of LIV’s biggest cheerleaders and he has made it very clear on numerous occasions that he made the right decision by leaving the PGA Tour.
What’s the biggest reason you don’t watch LIV Golf?
Now the Spaniard is allegedly out there trying to bolster his Fireballs roster ahead of the new 2026 LIV Golf season.
However, Garcia’s offer was immediately rejected by one of professional golf’s most talented young stars.
Golfer who’s played just four PGA Tour events rejects LIV Golf move
LIV Golf has experienced a really challenging off-season so far.
They have been rejected by numerous PGA Tour players including Akshay Bhatia, Si Woo Kim and Sungjae Im.
Meanwhile, Brooks Koepka left LIV to return to the PGA Tour.
And now the Saudi-backed league has been dealt yet another blow.

When speaking to Today’s Golfer, Angel Ayora revealed that he was recently approached by Garcia regarding a potential move to LIV to link up with Fireballs GC.
“I had the chance to go there,” Ayora said.
“I told [Garcia] it was a pleasure for me to be a part of his team, but I told him my dream is to play on the PGA Tour, so I’m going to try to keep this path.
“I want to be at the top 50 in the world and I want to play the majors and everything, so I think the right path for me is to stay here on DP and trying to get a PGA Tour card and play there.
“That’s what I want to do, so I’m going to fight for that.”
Angel Ayora’s career PGA Tour results
Ayora has played in four PGA Tour events during his career so far.
The 21-year-old Spaniard played in the Puerto Rico Open, the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and the ISCO Championship in 2025.
Do you think Shane Lowry will win during the 2026 season?
Was the first event of 2026 a success or a failure for Shane Lowry?
He missed the cut in New Orleans and recorded T-50 and T-59 finishes in the other two events.
Ayora played the Puerto Rico Open in 2024 and finished in 72nd position.
So, while he has only missed one cut out of the four events he has played, he certainly hasn’t set the world alight.
He is still very young, though, and is one of the most highly-rated young players in the game.
Angel Ayora will most likely go on to become one of the best players in the world, and it’s very clear that he’s intent on accomplishing that by playing on the PGA Tour.
Ayora’s decision to reject Garcia’s proposal is yet another big blow for LIV Golf.
