Scottish Open expert picks
The Golfing Gazette experts have made their picks for this week’s Scottish Open.
Charlie Walker: Matt Fitzpatrick has been unbelievable this season and thrives on this type of golf course. Expect him to master the links conditions and win in Scotland.
James Shearman: Tyrrell Hatton has won LIV Golf Andalucia and finished in the top 10 at the US Open in his last two events. The Englishman will now look to take his impressive form into the Scottish Open. Hatton has a solid record at the event, with three top-five finishes.
Jordan Harris: Xander Schauffele’s last two wins have come outside the United States, while he has also won the Scottish Open before. The pieces have been threatening to come together for some time, so perhaps this is his week.
Peter Lynch: It’s going to take a serious effort to pull off an upset against the big names this week, but I’m backing Nicolai Hojgaard as the player to do exactly that!
