Scottie Scheffler’s swing is one of golf’s big talking points in the modern era and Brandel Chamblee has now pointed out just what makes the world number one’s process so great.
For many who watch golf from a purist’s point of view, Scheffler’s swing can come across a tad unorthodox.
Scheffler is known for shifting his body and his feet in all sorts of weird and wonderful ways but in the end, he gets the job done better than anyone in the modern game right now.
Of course, some will use his swing as a way to criticise and there are some out there who feel that, eventually, it will be Scheffler’s undoing.
However, according to golf analyst Brandel Chamblee, Scheffler has nothing to worry about.

Scottie Scheffler’s swing compared to Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus
While those who watch Scottie Scheffler’s swing may feel it’s a touch off, the fundamentals of his swing are on point.
Scheffler gets the club head in the right position, keeps it on the perfect path, and come impact, has the club face square or exactly where he needs it to be to hit the appropriate shot.
Indeed, breaking down one specific element of Scheffler’s swing over on X, Brandel Chamblee has pointed out what makes Scheffler just like all the greats.
Adding further credence to his point, Chamblee then shared another post where he pointed out Scheffler being ‘neutral’ at the top of his swing.
Again, this is something Chamblee points out that all the greats – such as Nicklaus, Woods, and Hogan – have all done in the past.
Scottie Scheffler’s stats in 2025 prove his swing method works just fine
Scottie Scheffler’s all-round game is quite superb and you only have to have a quick glance at his stats so far in 2025 to show that.
Scheffler is number one in strokes gained overall on the PGA Tour, while he’s also top dog in SG off the tee and SG in approach.
Those numbers are no fluke and show simply that he is the top player in the world in terms of getting his ball in the right position.
| Strokes Gained (SG) | Scottie Scheffler 2025 |
| SG off the tee | 2nd (0.748) |
| SG approach | 1st (1.291) |
| SG around the green | 17th (0.322) |
| SG putting | 21st (0.382) |
| SG overall | 1st (2.743) |
Around the greens he is 43rd in SG, while in putting he’s 27th. Throw those all together, and you have the makings of one of the best golfers to ever play the game.
Right now, Scheffler can swing his swing and know it does the business. It’s for everyone else to work out how to catch him.
