Scottie Scheffler is the favourite to win The PGA Championship this week, and it’s little wonder as to why, is it?

Scheffler has been in imperious form this season, despite having won only once in nine events. Saying that out loud sounds plain silly, doesn’t it?

‘He’s only won once in nine events’. Most players would be over the moon with one win every season.

The 28-year-old’s 2025 campaign has been underlined by his incredible consistency, with six top-10s and nine top-25s.

He will certainly fancy his chances of winning The PGA Championship.

His game is peaking at just the right time. And taking last week off sets Scheffler up perfectly to win The PGA Championship.

Another man who is in high demand with the media this week is Jordan Spieth.

The 31-year-old has the chance to complete the Grand Slam with a win at Quail Hollow.

Spieth has admitted that he would love to have Scheffler’s iron play, and he will probably need it to win The PGA Championship!

However, there is something that Scheffler believes he can learn from Spieth as well.

The world number one was asked by the media if he would like to trade any of his attributes with other PGA Tour players.

The two-time Masters champion told reporters on Thursday, There’s so much I could learn from out here. Like I play a lot of golf with Jordan at home too and the stuff he does around the greens and the creativity that he plays with, I can learn a lot from.

Scheffler is spot on there. Spieth is one of the very best in the game at scrambling for par.

However, the 28-year-old has done himself a slight disservice there as far as I’m concerned.

There isn’t anyone better than Scheffler in the game at getting their ball up and down. He is ranked first in the scrambling stats after all.

Scottie Scheffler wishes he had Sam Burns’ putting skills

Scheffler is clearly a big fan of Burns’ putting.

He told reporters on Tuesday, So today I played a practice round with Sam Burns, and I remember when we played the Presidents Cup here in 2022, it was like he was putting to a hole that was the size of a basketball hoop. So I do a lot of practice rounds with Sam, and he’s a tremendous putter. I would trade that with him.

Scheffler has nailed that selection – Burns is ranked first in strokes gained putting this season.

However, the Dallas native isn’t a bad putter either – he is ranked 19th in that statistical category.

Scheffler has the most complete all-round game in professional golf, and he really doesn’t need to trade out any of his attributes with anyone.
