What more is left to be said about Scottie Scheffler and his incredible golf game?
Scheffler was in imperious form at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson on Thursday, as he seamlessly skipped around TPC Craig Ranch in 61 shots.
His round of 10-under-par featured eight birdies, an eagle and nine pars. Not too shabby at all, and now the 28-year-old is in prime position to tuck away his first PGA Tour win of the season.
After his opening round, Scheffler said the course at the CJ Cup was ‘shockingly dry’.

That was quite incredible really given the deluge of rain that hammered down on TPC Craig Ranch on Wednesday.
Scottie Scheffler picks the best shot he hit during round of 61 at CJ Cup Byron Nelson
Before the tournament began, Scheffler suggested that TPC Craig Ranch had been made a lot more difficult than it was previously.
Well, it certainly didn’t seem that way for the two-time Masters champion.
He will tee off early on Friday morning and be hoping to create some real distance between himself and second place.
If the American plays like he did on day one, he will be unstoppable this week.
Scheffler spoke to reporters after his scintillating first-round 61, and responded when asked what his best shot of the day was.

He said, “That’s a good question. I think the 3-wood I hit into 9 would be one of the better shots I hit today. I was kind of in between clubs and I choked up on a 3-wood and hit a really nice shot in there.
“Yeah, that would probably be the best.”
One thing’s for sure, there were a lot of seriously impressive golf shots to choose from!
His nine-iron into the 17th hole was pretty special, as was his second shot from 247 yards into the 18th green.

Once Scheffler wraps up a win, he will be able to really kick on over the next few months, with some huge events on the horizon.
