What was particularly remarkable about what Scottie Scheffler achieved in 2024 was just how big a number of the nine events he won were.
Scottie Scheffler rounded off his year by retaining the title at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas. The world number one finished six shots clear of anyone else at Tiger Woods‘ event.
Elsewhere, Scheffler won the Masters for a second time. Meanwhile, he also won four signature events on the PGA Tour. He became the first player to retain the Players Championship, and clinched the Tour Championship for the first time in his career.
And of course, few will ever forget the sight of Scheffler getting emotional on the podium at Le Golf National after winning the Olympic gold medal.
Scottie Scheffler picks out the three most ‘special’ wins from his 2024 season
A lot of players would be delighted to have the kind of career made up of what Scheffler has won in 2024 alone. So it is hardly surprising that the 28-year-old has struggled to pick out one particular win which stands out as the highlight.
Speaking after winning the Hero, Scheffler suggested that three tournaments potentially have the edge over the others.

“I’m not really sure. I think when I look back at this year, the Olympics is pretty special. I think winning the Players was extremely special, and the Masters. I would say those are the three that are a little bit different than the rest of the tournaments,” he said.
“Back-to-back Players was pretty cool, winning a second green jacket was pretty awesome and a gold medal was pretty cool as well. I would say those three are slightly different than the rest of them.”
Why Scheffler is going to start turning up to certain events already ahead of the field
The worry for many of Scheffler’s rivals will be that he retained his title at two of the events, while he won the Masters and the Arnold Palmer Invitational for a second time in three years in 2024.
Of course, you could point to the fact that Scheffler seems to contend at virtually every tournament he plays in. But it does appear that he feels particularly comfortable at a number of events.
The problem for the rest of the PGA Tour is that the Masters is only ever going to be played at Augusta National, the Arnold Palmer will only be played at Bay Hill, and the Players will only be played at Sawgrass.
| Recent winners | 2022 | 2023 | 2024 |
| Arnold Palmer Invitational | Scottie Scheffler | Kurt Kitayama | Scottie Scheffler |
| Players Championship | Cam Smith | Scottie Scheffler | Scottie Scheffler |
| Masters | Scottie Scheffler | Jon Rahm | Scottie Scheffler |
It is truly ominous if Scheffler feels that those are the courses which suit him best.
