Scottie Scheffler has won his third major of his career by snagging the PGA Championship and in doing so, he’s put himself alongside Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods in the record books.

Scheffler is not averse to writing his name in history and after playing Quail Hollow with such class this weekend, he has done so again.

The world number one turned on the afterburners on the back nine to win out by five shots as a number of players hoping to catch him simply couldn’t keep up the pace.

Now, Scheffler can add another mark on his resume as his latest win puts himself alongside the two greats of the game, Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.

Scottie Scheffler matches Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus with PGA Championship win

Anytime you can put yourselves along the very best in the history of golf it’s a special moment and while Scheffler has written his name in the record books plenty of times, he’ll be happy to add another to the book.

This time, as spelt out by Justin Ray on social media, Scheffler has become only the third player alongside Woods and Nicklaus to win three majors and 15th PGA Tour win.

With Scheffler seemingly unstoppable at times, that win total is bound to increase in the next few seasons and in the end, he might well be next to the career grand slam.

How many PGA Championships Scottie Scheffler, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods have won

Winning the PGA Championship is one of the biggest and best achievements in golf and between this iconic trio, they’ve now got quite the haul.

As we know, Scheffler has a long way to go in terms of catching the 15 and 18 majors that Woods and Nicklaus have.

However, he can now put himself next to them in the PGA Championship winner’s circle and his win now makes it ten between the three.

With more likely to come in the future, Scheffler’s major win box will continue to get more ticks and as it stands, it feels like nobody is close to him in the world of golf.
