Scottie Scheffler won for the sixth time on the PGA Tour this season as he bagged the Procore Championship and he’s now within touching distance of yet another milestone.

Scheffler held his nerve to produce some fine golf and beat out Ben Griffin to the title in Napa.

It was the first time Scheffler has won in California and he walks away with a cool $1m prize fund and yet another trophy for his cabinet.

As we know, money isn’t everything for Scheffler and he has other priorities both inside and outside of the game.

However, for us as golf fans, it’s still worth looking at the money side of things and after winning the Procore, Scheffler is now just a decent finish away from joining Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods.

Scottie Scheffler closes in on Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy career earnings

While we’ve already noted it won’t mean too much for Scottie Scheffler, the fact is that his continued form on the PGA Tour brings with it high earnings.

In fact, now Scheffler has pocketed the $1m at the Procore, he is just over half a million dollars from becoming just the third player ever to reach $100m in earnings.

As it stands, only Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are in that club and it goes without saying that Scheffler will get there.

Scheffler is now just $8m shy of McIlroy, while Tiger sits around $21m away.

However, the way things are going and given Scheffler is still not even 30, he has ample time on his side to become top dog and come the end of 2026, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him in top spot.

The highest earners in PGA Tour history

In the next few years, Scheffler is going to be the main man on this list.

It is worth noting that the prize money in modern golf dwarfs that of previous years and had Tiger Woods had the money on offer Scheffler has had in the last three years, he’d be far and away the top man.

PlayerPrize money earned
Tiger Woods$120,999,166
Rory McIlroy $107,981,766
Scottie Scheffler$99,382,766
Phil Mickelson $96,727,968
Dustin Johnson $75,695,066
Justin Rose$73,736,017
Jim Furyk$71,507,269

Still, it’s impressive stuff from Scheffler and given only nine players have ever earned north of $70m, the fact he’s just shy of being in the $100m club is quite something.

Could we see Scheffler be the first player to reach $200m? As it stands, the answer is a resounding yes.
