Sam Burns is well known as being Scottie Scheffler’s best friend on the PGA Tour.

Burns spends plenty of time playing alongside Scheffler during practice rounds ahead of PGA Tour tournaments, week in week out.

Back in May, Burns raved about Scheffler, as both a golfer and a person.

However, the 29-year-old from Louisiana obviously can’t play with his best friend every week in tournaments.

He has been speaking about life on tour and lifted the lid on who he likes to be paired with most, aside from Scheffler.

Burns is considered an old head on the PGA Tour now, despite being just 29.

With five PGA Tour victories to his name, he is an experienced winner as well.

Burns was a guest on the Bible Caddie Podcast, and was asked which player he loves playing alongside most on tour, aside from Scheffler.

He said: I would say probably Xander.

Xander Schauffele is a very popular player on the PGA Tour, so it’s no surprise that Burns picked him as his second favorite pro to play alongside.

Sam Burns’ 2025 PGA Tour record

Burns has played consistently well this season but the fact that he hasn’t won means that he won’t be happy with his efforts in 2025.

He is currently ranked 24th in the FedEx Cup standings, so he’s far from guaranteed a spot at the Tour Championship later this month.

Here is how he has fared on the PGA Tour this season:

Burns will be hoping to turn his solid 2025 season into a very good one with a win during the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

And unless he does that, he will probably end the year fairly disappointed.
