Justin Rose is enjoying one of the best spells in his illustrious career right now, with the 45-year-old winning the Farmers Insurance Open in dominant fashion this past week.
The Englishman was hugely impressive at Torrey Pines. Justin Rose led the way from the early stages of the Farmers Insurance Open, and refused to open the door for any of his rivals.
Do you think Justin Rose will win a second major title before he retires?
The 45-year-old is playing some of the best golf of his career right now
It is his second PGA Tour victory within the last 12 months, with Rose also winning the FedEx St. Jude Championship following a playoff with J.J. Spaun in August.
When you consider that he made it into a playoff at The Masters last year and also played a starring role for Europe at the Ryder Cup at Bethpage, it really does appear that Rose has uncovered a remarkable skill in the twilight of his career.
Sahith Theegala left amazed by Justin Rose after his win at the Farmers Insurance Open
The 2013 US Open champion is probably not as consistent as he would like. But he has found a way to make the most of the weeks where he is able to put himself in contention.
You would have to go back to 2022 for the last time he failed to register a major top 10. And speaking about his performance at Torrey, Sahith Theegala suggested that he would not be at all shocked to see Rose become a two-time major champion in the coming months.
“Yeah, what he’s doing at 45 is unbelievable. It kind of is I don’t want to say Djokovic like, Djokovic is the goat, but just to be able to gain the ball speed he has to be able to keep the competitive fire that he has, the discipline while also being a great family man,” he said.
“I got to know him a lot better through TGL and being on my LAGC team. He kind of does it all. He’s very, very impressive.

“And somehow I feel like he’s flown under the radar for 20-plus years. No. 1 in the world, major champ, gold medalist, whatever. You name it, you feel like he’s done it. So to be playing potentially some of the best golf of his life now.
“I know he wants to win majors really bad. Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if he snags one this year at all especially after last year. It’s been known for a while that he had his little recovery stations and, you know, does the cold plunges, the saunas, the stretching, the gym work. Whatever it might be, he does pretty much anything necessary.
“I didn’t really have that attitude. I’m going to get more to that. I don’t know if anyone can take it as extreme as some of these guys do. I’m sure some of these top guys behind the scenes are doing very similar recovery stuff. It’s pretty brutal. Golf’s sneaky tough on the body. So yeah, he does a lot of things the right way. He’s all class.”
How Rose wrote his name in Masters folklore with stunning performance in 2025
There are going to be plenty of eyes on Rose when The Masters comes around. Of course, he was the player Rory McIlroy defeated to finally win the Green Jacket last year.
At this stage, it seems to be just as much a part of Rose’s destiny to win at Augusta National. Only Rose and Ben Hogan have lost two playoffs at The Masters in the event’s history.
He has now finished second in two of the last five majors. And while he has also registered two missed cuts in that time, there is every reason to think that he will pick off another of the sport’s four biggest events at some stage.
His win on Sunday hints that there may be even more to come from Rose in this chapter of his career.
