Rory McIlroy returns to the PGA Tour for the first time in 2025, with the four-time major champion in a strong field for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
McIlroy just made his TGL debut, where his Boston Common Golf side lost 4-3 to Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links at Florida’s SoFi Center.
But McIlroy now turns his attention to the PGA Tour, with world number one Scottie Scheffler also in the field at Pebble Beach.
McIlroy has been tipped to win the PGA Championship ahead of Scheffler, with Quail Hollow playing host to the major in mid-May.
First up in the major season, however, is the Masters, a title that McIlroy has yet to win despite his stunning career.

Rory McIlroy eyes Masters, Olympic medal and away Ryder Cup before retiring
And perhaps unsurprisingly, success at the event is now at the forefront of his mind, having won the US Open, The Open Championship and the PGA Championship on two occasions.
“Winning the Masters, winning an Olympic medal and another away Ryder Cup, they are my three goals for the rest of my career,” McIlroy told BBC Sport.

“I’ve realised that all I can control is myself. What’s right for me right now is to fully focus on myself and to get the best out of myself and get back to winning the biggest tournaments in the world.
“I’ve been agonisingly close for the past few years, without being able to get it done and that is the main focus of this year.”
Rory McIlroy backs himself for US Open success at Oakmont
A decade has now passed since McIlroy last won a major championship, with several near misses having taken place during that time.
One such near miss came as he finished second to Scheffler at the 2022 Masters, losing out to the American by three shots.
Another came last year at the US Open, where LIV Golf star Bryson DeChambeau beat the Northern Irishman by a single shot at Pinehurst.
Major success is now firmly on the agenda, with McIlroy adding: “All of my practice, all of my prep, even the tournaments that I’m playing, it’s all geared towards being ready for those four events.
“Augusta is Augusta. I’ve gone through my stats and there are a couple of things that were pointed out to me that I could definitely get better at – certain little shots around the greens.
“At Quail Hollow I’ve played some great golf. I’ve won four times there. I went up against Xander Schauffele, who went on to win two majors last year, and played some of my best golf in that final round.
“Oakmont is a place that I think I will relish more as a US Open test now than I did back in 2016. I feel like I’ve become a very, very good US Open player and I’ve got the patience and the discipline and the mindset to excel.”
