Rory McIlroy recently named his favorite par-three hole from all of the golf courses he has played.
McIlroy is currently in Melbourne for the Australian Open, the second event of the 2026 DP World Tour season.
One of the reasons he has decided to participate in the tournament is that it is being held at the iconic Royal Melbourne.
It’s one of the eight top courses in the Melbourne Sandbelt area, which is considered one of the best golf destinations in the world.
McIlroy’s favorite par three belongs to another of the popular Sandbelt courses that he played a while ago.

Rory McIlroy’s favorite par three in the world
McIlroy has named the 10th hole at Kingston Heath as the par three he has enjoyed playing the most.
It is actually a spare hole that is often not used in professional tournaments, but it is part of the course on a normal day.
One of the standout features of golf in the Melbourne Sandbelt area is the bunkers, and the 10th at Kingston Heath is no exception.
Which golf course would you like to win a title at most?
The hole is only around 140 yards long, but bogeys are still easily made because the green is surrounded by sand.
“Honestly, the one par three I would want to play for the rest of my life is the spare hole at Kingston Heath,” McIlroy said on Wide World of Sports.
“The one that’s right in the middle of the course. I think it’s the 10th, and the members play it. That, to me, is my favorite par three in the world.”

Shane Lowry’s top five par threes
McIlroy’s close friend, Shane Lowry, named his top five par threes earlier this year.
Lowry included the three famous holes where he has made an ace: the 16th at Augusta National, the 17th at TPC Sawgrass, and the 7th at Pebble Beach.
The Irishman then named the other two par threes that stand out as being particularly memorable.
Lowry added: “The Postage Stamp (8th at Royal Troon) and 12 at Augusta. I don’t think anybody has had a hole-in-one at 12 in a long time!
“A lot of the time, you are not even aiming at the flag there. That is probably the top five.”
