Rory McIlroy still hasn’t finished his 2025 season, with the Northern Irishman now looking towards the Golf Channel Games.
But he can enjoy a well-deserved break after the exhibition event with Scottie Scheffler, having been extremely busy in 2025.
Along with being extremely busy, McIlroy has enjoyed huge success, with his win at The Masters a major highlight.
McIlroy also won the Ryder Cup among other successes, while he also participated in the inaugural season of TGL.

Rory McIlroy confirms Michael Thorbjornsen has joined his TGL team
Co-founded by McIlroy and Tiger Woods, the innovative indoor league will return for its second edition in January.
And the former has now issued a major update ahead of its return, with McIlroy saying on The Shotgun Start: “We have a new member of the team who I practiced with this morning, Michael Thorbjornsen.
“I am breaking some news! So we have some fresh blood. I think that could make the difference.”

McIlroy represents Boston Common Golf in TGL, alongside teammates Hideki Matsuyama, Adam Scott and Keegan Bradley.
When asked why the change has been made, he replied: “Hideki and Adam are world travellers. Hideki will be in Japan and Adam will be in Australia for the first game we play on January 2nd.
“So Michael has come in and it’s going to be Michael, Keegan and myself. We are feeling pretty good!”
Who is PGA Tour player Michael Thorbjornsen?
American ace Thorbjornsen has made 45 starts on the PGA Tour in his career so far, having joined in 2024.
He has yet to claim a title, but finished runner-up at this season’s Corales Puntacana Championship, and third at the Baycurrent Classic.
The 24-year-old has twice finished as runner-up in his career on the PGA Tour, from which he’s earned $3,568,248.

Rory McIlroy confirms Ryder Cup friction has gone ahead of TGL 2026
Despite the dust having long settled, McIlroy was also tasked with discussing the 2025 Ryder Cup given his TGL teammate Bradley.
When asked if there is any “lingering beef” from the event, he said: “There might have been for like a week or two after that but we have gotten past that!”
Which four players do you choose?
Bradley was devastated by the Ryder Cup loss, when he captained the USA to a disappointing defeat to Europe at Bethpage Black.
But he’s since taken on The Skins Game, in which McIlroy’s Ryder Cup teammates Shane Lowry and Tommy Fleetwood also took part.
Bradley claimed a huge $2.1 million in The Skins Game, which will have helped his Ryder Cup pain somewhat, as should another edition of TGL.
