Rory McIlroy endured another frustrating season on the PGA Tour, once again failing to end his major drought.
McIlroy feels well behind Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele in 2024, having fallen below the duo in the world rankings.
The world number three did, however, still manage two wins for the season, taking his PGA Tour career wins to 26.
McIlroy also made 18 of 19 cuts, and secured seven top-10 finishes and 15 top-25 finishes throughout the year.
But the Northern Irishman again fell short in his latest major efforts, coming closest at the US Open in June.

Rory McIlroy confirms change for next season
McIlroy was runner-up to Bryson DeChambeau at the US Open, having endured a nightmare final round at Pinehurst.
As per BBC Sport has now looked ahead to next year, with McIlroy saying: “It’s been a long season, and I’m going to think about trying to build in a few extra breaks going forward because I felt like I hit a bit of a wall post-US Open.
“I’m going to try to cut it back to like 18 or 20 [tournaments] a year going forward, I think.”
Can Rory McIlroy finally end his major drought next year?
McIlroy will still have nightmares about his US Open collapse, where he allowed DeChambeau to sneak in and lift the trophy at the very last minute.
Elsewhere, the four-time major winner finished T22 at the Masters, T12 at the PGA Championship, before missing the cut at The Open.
He last won a major trophy in 2014, with both The Open and the PGA Championship trophies going his way that year.
McIlroy is now already focusing on a better 2025, which will see him return home to Northern Ireland for The Open.
Worryingly, however, he missed the cut when Royal Portrush hosted the event in 2019, with the same venue set to host the competition next year.
He once led the way in world golf, although Xander Schauffele says Scottie Scheffler is more dominant than prime McIlroy.
