It’s been over two years since Rickie Fowler’s last PGA Tour victory at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic.
That’s also Fowler’s only win in the last six seasons as he continues to struggle after a successful start to his professional career.
Despite his inconsistent performances, the 36-year-old has made five of the last six United States Ryder Cup teams, including the 2023 event in Rome.
But he has almost no chance of qualifying for Bethpage in September, so he will need to be one of Keegan Bradley’s picks.

Rickie Fowler downplays Ryder Cup chances at the Wyndham Championship
Fowler spoke about the Ryder Cup in his press conference before the Wyndham Championship this week.
He admitted that he’s “definitely outside of consideration” for the USA team and would need to do something special in the coming weeks.
“I would say that I am definitely outside of consideration right now,” Fowler explained. “There is still time to plead my case, but going back to executing, I need to go and play some good golf, and I need a really good stretch these next few weeks.
“The team will be fine with or without me, but I haven’t quite done much of anything to say that I should be there. But it would be fun to go on a little run and see if that maybe sparks anyone’s interest.
“But if we can’t, it’s part of it. You don’t make all of them. But they are fun to be a part of, and we will see if we can give ourselves a shot at it.”

What Rickie Fowler needs to do to make USA Ryder Cup team
Fowler currently ranks 43rd in the United States qualification standings on 2,462.97 points.
For context, sixth-placed Harris English (the final qualification spot) is on 10,385.65 points after a victory at the Farmers Insurance Open and several top 10 finishes.
With only three events remaining until the teams are confirmed, Fowler would probably need to win all of them to qualify.
That’s obviously unrealistic, so his only chance to represent his country at Bethpage is by earning one of Bradley’s six selections.
And still, to leapfrog players who have enjoyed impressive seasons, such as Ben Griffin and Andrew Novak, he surely needs at least one win and another couple of strong finishes.
