The Memorial Tournament was won by Scottie Scheffler for the second year running, and Rickie Fowler offered high praise for the world number one after the event.
Scheffler has an air of invincibility around him right now, and Fowler has been enjoying the show just like the fans.
Memorial host Jack Nicklaus lauded Scheffler after his win at Muirfield Village.
The 28-year-old really does seem to be unbeatable right now, and his performance at Jack’s Place would have sent out a real statement to the rest of his competition.
It was a successful week for Fowler as well after his qualification for The Open Championship.

If he is to have a chance of competing with Scheffler at Royal Portrush, he will have to seriously raise his levels over the next six weeks or so.
Rickie Fowler praises Scottie Scheffler after Memorial win
Fowler was once a top-10 golfer in the world.
In fact, his highest ever ranking was fourth way back in 2016.
And it’s great to see him slowly work his way back to the levels he reached nearly a decade ago.
However, it is obvious to see that the 36-year-old isn’t anywhere near Scheffler’s level right now. That’s ok though, because nobody else is either!
Fowler responded when asked how hard it was to begin the final day six shots adrift of Scheffler.

He said, “Well, I mean, it’s tough. The position I was at at six back, I was going to have to put together a really good round of golf. Yeah, I would say just like, you know, Scottie’s obviously the best there is right now, but a lot of times when you’re six back, you’re never expecting the guys to come backwards, especially Scottie. He’s someone that obviously has proven he’s in very much control of his game. It was never, never had a thought of winning score being less than 8-under, so I knew I was going to have to go out and play well early and at least get off to a good start, and unfortunately couldn’t make anything, so I had to just work on getting it into the house with the fewest amount of strokes.“
Fowler was proven right in the end as Scheffler carded a final round 70 to win by four from second placed Ben Griffin.
Scottie Scheffler’s domination continues
Scheffler has amassed a remarkable record in the game already.
The 28-year-old’s career record shows just how consistent he has been over the past few years.
| Achievements | Scottie Scheffler’s results |
| Events played | 144 |
| Major wins | 3 |
| PGA Tour wins | 16 |
| Top-10s | 70 |
| Top-5s | 51 |
| Cuts made | 125 |
Scheffler will now have all kinds of records in his sights.
And right now, there doesn’t seem to be a golfer on the planet who is capable of stopping the man from Dallas, Texas.
