The Myrtle Beach qualifier is all done with now and everyone knows that Matt Atkins was the eventual winner.
Atkins won out against YouTube star George Bryan in a dramatic playoff. Bryan had gone into the final hole two shots in front but hit a bogey while Atkins hit a birdie to take the event into a playoff.
In the playoff, Atkins held his nerve and showed his class to hole another birdie and take the spot in the Myrtle Beach Classic in a few weeks.
However, since then, the powers that be have reached out to Bryan and offered him a second exemption into the actual event.
The decision has caused a bit of a stir among the golfing world.
And speaking about the decision, Rick Shiels has given his honest opinion on Bryan being awarded a second spot.

Rick Shiels gives honest verdict on George Bryan getting a place in the Myrtle Beach Classic
Speaking on the latest episode of his Rick Shiels Golf Show, the YouTube star offered up his thoughts on the current situation with George Bryan.
“So they went through to a play off as George Bryan bogeyed the last and Matt Atkins birdied it to take it to a playoff, and then Matt Atkins birdied it again to actually get through. Since, Myrtle Beach have reached out to George Bryan and given him an exemption, which a lot of people are kind of, not happy about. I think it’s great, personally. I’m glad they’ve given an exemption.
“There was talk about what was the point in the qualifier but if you’re going to get eyeballs to the tour event, then put someone like George Bryan on the sheet I think it gets more eyeballs than Matt Atkins does,” Shiels said.
Bryan’s brother Wesley is already a PGA Tour player and finished second last week after a stunning round.
Whether or not George can replicate the form his brother shows, remains to be seen.
The popular duo are one of the top content creators on YouTube but his inclusion has drawn some backlash given he finished second.
If he can somehow beat Atkins in the actual event, then that would shut a lot of people up.
