Team USA will like their chances of a successful 2025 Ryder Cup after their display in the 2024 Presidents Cup.
US Team captain Jim Furyk guided his side to an 18.5-11.5 victory over Mike Weir’s International Team at Royal Montreal.
The Presidents Cup was finely poised in the early stages, with the hosts fighting back from a 5-0 deficit to tie 5-5.
But the eventual champions went into Sunday’s singles needing just 4½ points to win after taking an 11-7 lead.
Smylie Kaufman questioned Min Woo Lee’s lack of action, with the Australian playing just two matches throughout the competition.

Rich Beem makes Ryder Cup prediction after US Team win Presidents Cup
But that certainly wasn’t the only issue for the International Team, who came up well short against a strong US Team.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Keegan Bradley wants most of the US Team at the Ryder Cup, where he will be team captain.
And that is a scenario that Rich Beem thinks will play out, writing for Sky Sports: “I think we’re going to see a lot of the same players that played this week for Team USA at Bethpage Black next September, although one will likely not be as he will be the captain.
“Jim Furyk learned plenty from his 2018 Ryder Cup experience and brought it to them this time around. Whatever they learned this year and whatever Furyk did in the locker room, I think that Keegan Bradley is going take a lot of that with him into the Ryder Cup.”
Rich Beem suggests Ryder Cup spots for Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth
Furyk certainly came under fire for his Presidents Cup selections, with the captain choosing the six highest-ranked players in the qualifications list.
But they paid off, even if it was the automatic qualifiers who ultimately shone brightest for the US Team in Canada.
Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay and Collin Morikawa all finished the event with impressive 4-1-0 records.
There are, however, a couple of players who missed out that Beem feels can do a job against Team Europe at Bethpage Black.
“It may be a lot of the same characters and individuals, but you have to remember we left home Justin Thomas and we left home Jordan Spieth for the first time in a long time, so there’s still plenty of depth there at our disposal,” he added.
“The depth we have is going to be significant going against the Europeans but, let’s face it, the crowds and the golf course are going to be the difference in New York. It’s going to be an insane atmosphere.”
