Rory McIlroy is leading the way at the Dubai Invitational heading into the weekend and fellow pro Ryan Fox admitted it was quite something playing alongside him.
Fox partnered McIlroy as he finished day two a whopping ten under par overall. This, despite McIlroy making a seven on the par three eighth hole.

It means the Northern Irishman is well in contention to win his first event of the year and set himself up nicely for the 2024 season.
McIlory has admitted he is fully focussed on being right for The Masters this year. And speaking about how it was to play alongside him, Australian star Ryan Fox admitted to being in awe.

Speaking to Inci Mehmet out on course for the DP World Tour’s coverage, Fox was asked if playing alongside Rory drives him on.
And Fox admitted that McIlory’s opening round nine under had him impressed, conceding he can see just why he’s been at the top for so long.
“Yesterday I was just in awe, to be honest. It was pretty impressive. He made me look like a second rate player which is absolutely fine. It’s always great playing with someone of his calibre and you can see why he’s been at the top for so long with how he played yesterday,” Fox said.
McIlroy is fully focussed on winning a major tournament this year after getting closer in recent years.
The Masters is the one he craves for the career grand slam, though.
And come April, based on his form on opening weekend, McIlroy looks to be heading very much in the right direction to win in Augusta.
