The PGA Tour has just announced a significant change going forward, with Brian Rolapp named as its new CEO.
Rolapp takes over the role from Jay Monahan, who helped form the search committee for the new appointment on the PGA Tour.
Monahan will now transition his daily responsibilities to Rolapp but will remain with the PGA Tour through 2026.
The announcement comes immediately after the conclusion of the US Open at Oakmont, which was won by J.J. Spaun.
Rolapp joins the PGA Tour after working with the National Football League (NFL) for over two decades, most recently serving as its Chief Media and Business Officer.

Banned PGA Tour player proposes meeting with new CEO Brian Rolapp
And he has already been welcomed into his new position by Wesley Bryan, who was suspended by the PGA Tour earlier this year.

Reacting to the appointment, Bryan wrote on X: “Look forward to meeting you Brian! Let’s do something special with the game we love! I am excited to see how the PGA Tour evolves.”
Why was Wesley Bryan banned from the PGA Tour?
Popular content creator Bryan has made 134 starts on the PGA Tour, clinching his only win at the RBC Heritage back in 2017.
But the American was handed a suspension on the PGA Tour in April of this year after he took part in The Duels on LIV Golf.
Similar to the Creator Classic on the PGA Tour, The Duels Miami featured many golf content creators, including Bryan and his brother George Bryan.
The latter won the nine-hole scramble event alongside Sergio Garcia, with the action having taken place ahead of LIV Golf Miami.
Dan Rapaport thinks Bryan will join LIV Golf following his suspension on the PGA Tour, which left the player disappointed, but it remains to be seen how his future will unfold.
Michael Kim also shared his verdict on the appointment, writing on X: “Maybe I can get some good [Los Angeles Chargers] tickets.
“I think Brian is going to bring fresh innovative eyes to the tour and will make some great changes for fans and players.”
Like Bryan, Kim is a one-time winner on the PGA Tour, with the American having triumphed at the 2018 John Deere Classic.
He just took on the US Open at Oakmont Country Club, providing his usual insightful analysis as he secured a T50 finish.
