There was no question that Anthony Kim was the marquee name in the field for the Promotions event ahead of the 2026 LIV Golf season.

Kim was relegated last year. However, there have unquestionably been some positive signs for the American over the last 12 months.
Anthony Kim earns his LIV Golf spot for the 2026 season
He finished tied for fifth at the Saudi International towards the end of 2025.
Nevertheless, the odds were clearly stacked against him with just three spots on LIV up for grabs.
Kim ended up taking the last of those slots in Florida. The 40-year-old had posted a 66 in Saturday’s round to put himself in a fantastic position.

And his 69 on Sunday was enough to get across the line. Richard T. Lee and Bjorn Hellgren have also earned spots on LIV for the upcoming season after finishing first and second respectively.
Following the event’s conclusion, Phil Mickelson took to social media to laud his countryman.
How Anthony Kim performed on LIV Golf in 2025
Kim’s game certainly appears to be trending in the right direction. He has produced some superb rounds over the last two years since making his comeback to the game.
But putting it all together over three rounds has proved difficult. His best result during the 2025 LIV season was 25th as he finished 55th in the standings.
You would imagine that the move to 72 holes will not be particularly beneficial to Kim.

It should be noted that Jeunghun Wang actually outscored Kim over the final three rounds, with both players receiving a bye for the first day. Wang ultimately finished two shots back over the two rounds that mattered.
Sometimes it is easy to overlook just how far Kim has come considering he spent well over a decade away from the game before his return in 2024.
The Promotions event did not boast the strongest field by any means. But Kim has ensured that he has another opportunity to prove that there is plenty more to come from his comeback.
