Phil Mickelson roared back to form over at LIV Hong Kong and he’s not commented on the potential of winning another Masters title in a few months time.
Mickelson produced three solid rounds of three, five and six under to finish at 14 under for the tournament and his best finish since moving to LIV.
The 54-year-old is one of the game’s best ever players and having won nearly everything there is to win, another major will be on his radar.
Of course, having won the Masters three times before, a quad of green jackets would go down just nicely for Mickelson at this stage of his career.
And discussing that very possibility, Mickelson has admitted it’s definitely on his mind.

Phil Mickelson discusses winning The Masters after LIV Hong Kong showing
Speaking in the immediate aftermath of his final round in Hong Kong that saw him finish third, Mickelson admitted that his focus was on Augusta National and seeing if he can play himself into contention.
“So that’s actually right in my thought process. However, for me to play well there, I’ve got to build into it, which makes this tournament even more important,” Mickelson said.
“I played well at Adelaide, didn’t putt well. I played well here, cleaned up some things, made some good putts throughout the three days, and then keep cleaning it up, get sharper and sharper and feeling that pressure and that excitement coming down the stretch, that only gets me more ready for Augusta. But I need to keep building and keep improving, keep fine tuning.
“But I’m finding a different style of golf that is allowing me to shoot scores that can compete against the best players but just a different way.”
Phil Mickelson’s record at The Masters
Having made his debut at Augusta in 1991 as an amateur and then going on to win it in 2004, Phil Mickelson knows more than most about the course.
Indeed, having won three times, he’s one of few players in history to have multiple green jackets to his name and in fairness, it wasn’t too long ago he was still competing.
Mickelson managed a remarkable finish of 2nd back in 2023 and he’ll have that firmly in mind in terms of trying to get into the mix in the 2025 edition.

With so many players relying on big hitting now in the modern game, Mickelson’s course knowledge and experience can stand him in good stead for Augusta again.
And if he can win it, it will be up there with Tiger’s win in 2019 as one of the best ever.
