Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy are the star names set to compete at this week’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The pro-am event takes place on three courses on Scotland’s east coast: St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns.
14 LIV Golf players are set to compete as Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton ensure their eligibility for the 2025 Ryder Cup.
The famous DP World Tour event comes just two weeks after the flagship BMW PGA Championship event at Wentworth, which Billy Horschel won for the second time.
After Horschel’s success in Surrey, the PGA Tour has been urged to make a change in order to entice some of the game’s elite overseas for what is an integral part of the DP World Tour season.
Ryan Lavner wants PGA Tour stars to make DP World Tour move after FedEx Cup

Speaking on the Golf Channel, Ryan Lavner admitted he would love to see more PGA Tour stars head to Europe once the FedEx Cup has concluded.
“Yes, absolutely. I would love to see it during the summer as well when you get sort of a sleepy time on the PGA Tour,” Lavner said. “I think you can backfill the schedule with stronger events overseas in the run-up to the Open Championship.
“Once the FedEx Cup season ends, this is a golden opportunity to highlight and fortify these DP World Tour events that have so much history. They’re played on great golf courses that maybe traditionally lack the high-end field. I think this is a perfect opportunity.”
Lavner continued: “This feels like old times at St Andrews this week. Rahm, Rory, Fleetwood and the addition of Brooks Koepka. I think this is the potential blueprint for what you’d love to see as a golf fan this time of year.”
Smylie Kaufman in agreement about DP World Tour switch
It’s not just Lavner who has suggested that more PGA Tour stars should move to Europe after the season ends.
Smylie Kaufman believes the prospect of Scottie Scheffler going head-to-head with Rory McIlroy on some of the DP World Tour’s most iconic courses is something that needs to happen.
“It was fun to see Rory McIlroy coming down the stretch at the Irish Open, but throw Xander Schauffele into that thing at Royal County Down or Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth. The list goes on,” Kaufman explained. “We see these guys at major championships at iconic venues; I would love to see it on a global stage. It seems like a no-brainer; I don’t know why we haven’t talked about it before.”
Kaufman continued: “A way in which we can answer those questions that Rory McIlroy has. The schedule is already lined up, and maybe find a way to get LIV guys in there. That would be great.”
