The PGA Tour and LIV Golf continue with their respective events this week, with a merger yet to be disclosed.
Jay Monahan confirmed PGA Tour and LIV Golf talks last month, but there has been little news since then.
A PGA Tour and LIV Golf merger could happen before the Masters, which takes place at Augusta National next week.
For now, however, the former heads to the Valero Texas Open this week, with LIV Golf Miami up next for the latter.
But LIV Golf will mirror the PGA Tour somewhat in Miami, with The Duels set to take place at Trump National Doral.

Peter Finch says LIV Golf could ‘exploit’ PGA Tour Creator Classic weakness
It will involve six teams of one LIV pro and one content creator taking on a nine-hole scramble, with the Creator Classic having just taken place at the Players Championship on the PGA Tour.
Sharing his verdict on the events, Peter Finch said on The Rough Cut Golf Podcast: “The one thing with the Creator Classic which I think is good is that with the live broadcast and the tracers and how they treat it as an actual tour event, I think that is good and I think it is different visually.
“I think it impacts very differently. But it is the length and the fact it’s not a YouTube video. Most people watch YouTube videos because they like the people they’re watching, their characters, the interactions between them, the chat, the fact they are mic’d up. That’s what they prefer.

“I don’t think they are overly bothered about seeing creators playing a tour event round. I think the last one at Sawgrass, the biggest criticism was the fact it was just commentators and not the actual creators doing the chat which I think is a big weakness which LIV are, maybe going to exploit.”
And if he was asked by LIV Golf to play in Miami, Finch noted: “I have had conversations with potential about going to The Duels. I was in the original selection and then got, I don’t know, put to the side or whatever.
“I don’t know if we would have gone or not but one of the big advantages that LIV have is that you are playing for a big prize pool but as a creator is concerned you are going to get an appearance fee.

“If you want to have the best creators at your event you have to give them some sort of incentive. The difference with the PGA Tour is that it’s on the PGA Tour’s channel.
“When we did the first event in Atlanta, we wanted to be there, because it was a new thing and it was going to be cool and exciting. We did enjoy it but we kind of ended up having to pay to be there to create this for the PGA Tour.
“The one at Sawgrass would have been quite cool, but we are trying to figure out if we go there and turn it into a trip again it is probably going to end up costing us money for content we are not really going to have.

“So it feels a bit weird. It feels like LIV have come in and said one of the weaknesses of the Creator Classic is not having all the people there that people want to watch.
“Literally you have Wes, George, Grant, FP, Luke and Rick. So you have a group of people who people want to watch and have that engagement, so to have that as opposed to the Creator Classic, which I just fear that the Creator Classic has such a good potential but if they are going to do it they have to do it properly.
“It has to be like we are going to get you here, all these players are going to be there, so you have to watch it and we actually are going to get you there and if we are just having your time and not the content we are going to pay you to be there as well. Even if the Creator Classic had a prize pool, just to incentivise people a little bit more.”
Peter Finch suggests Wesley Bryan could have LIV Golf audition
The PGA Tour’s Creator Classic, which solely involves content creators, initially started as a single event, but has since turned into a series.
YouTube icon Grant Horvat won the most recent edition at TPC Sawgrass last month, with the tournament also featuring the likes of Fat Perez and Wesley Bryan.
Somewhat different to his fellow content creators, Bryan has one PGA Tour win to his name, having triumphed at the 2017 RBC Heritage.

He has made three starts in 2025, with Finch now discussing the idea of Bryan playing on LIV Golf while being on the PGA Tour.
“You could say if it goes really well it could be used as a bit of an audition,” he said. “LIV does have that flexibility. It goes into the point of being like TGL.

“Are we going for pure professional golf standards or are we going for more entertainment? Wes has won on the PGA Tour but he has now moved into being more of a YouTube creator.
“Grant really is the biggest name in YouTube golf at the moment, he is a very good player, but I doubt he is going to be able to stand up to playing Brooks Koepka on a weekly basis.”
