It is going to be fascinating to see how history looks back on the 2024 season with Scottie Scheffler and Nelly Korda both producing all-time great years.
Of course, Scottie Scheffler won nine times worldwide in 2024. The highlight of his year came as he won The Masters for a second time. However, he also won a number of the biggest events on the PGA Tour, including The Players Championship, The Memorial Tournament and the Tour Championship.
Meanwhile, few will forget his performance on Sunday to win the Olympic gold medal in Paris.
Nelly Korda had a tougher time at Le Golf National. However, her year was not far away from being as impressive as she won her second major title at the Chevron Championship.
Nelly Korda outlines what impresses her most about Scottie Scheffler
She won six times in seven starts in the early part of the year. And just when it appeared that Lydia Ko and Jeeno Thitikul were taking some of the shine off of her year, Korda then won The ANNIKA in some style in November.
Korda has become one of the biggest names in the game. So it was no surprise that TaylorMade got her to take part in a video alongside Scheffler in which they faced off trying to hit an array of approach shots as close as possible.
And when asked about the experience, Korda outlined what impressed her most about Scheffler.

“That content we actually shoot at the end of the year with TaylorMade. We have a two-day shoot with them where we create really fun videos. I get to see the guys that represent TaylorMade, and we all get to kind of spend time together, talk about our seasons, and at the end of the day, create fun content that maybe we normally wouldn’t do for fans out there,” she said.
“It’s fun getting to do something with Tiger, getting to do something with Scottie. It was a lot of fun.”
“Yeah, he’s just an incredible player, incredible human being, and how consistent he is week in and week out, that’s something to look up to.”
What Scottie Scheffler said about Nelly Korda’s five wins in a row in 2024
While Korda has not won on the LPGA Tour this year, her recent second place finish at the US Women’s Open suggests that she is going to end that wait sooner rather than later.
But like Scheffler, it was almost inevitable that Korda would not be quite as successful this time around.
Winning five times in a row is a monumental achievement, with Scheffler admitting at the time that he could not compete with that sort of run.
“One of the people here asked me, like, ‘Is this turning into a competition between you and Nelly?’ and I was like, I don’t know, man, I think if it’s a competition, she’s got me pretty beat right now,” Scheffler said to the PGA Tour. “Five wins in a row, it’s pretty special stuff. To win four times in a row and then show up at a major championship and win is extremely impressive. So I’m extremely happy for her.”
Scheffler has definitely got the edge in 2025 with three wins, including a third major title. But there is still plenty of time for that gap to close.
