Michael Kim posted a round of one-under par 69 on day one of The Scottish Open on Thursday.
Kim flew over to Britain for The Scottish Open after his hugely disappointing missed cut at The John Deere Classic last week.
The 31-year-old PGA Tour winner is arguably just as famous for his online persona as he is for his performances on the golf course.
He offers real insight for golf fans about what actually goes on behind closed doors in the world of professional golf.
Earlier this week, Kim lifted the lid on how much money PGA Tour players actually make after tax and outgoings.
He has gained a huge cult following, and he almost always has really interesting takes on golf’s hottest topics.
And Kim’s verdict on links golf will undoubtedly raise a few eyebrows, but on which side of the Atlantic?
Michael Kim gives links golf verdict as the PGA Tour comes to Britain
The top players from the PGA Tour and DP World Tour have assembled in Scotland this week to form the second strongest field in the game behind only The Players Championship.

Aside from the money on offer, what else has tempted so many American players to cross the Atlantic to play?
Playing The Scottish Open is clearly good preparation for The Open next month.
However, could it just be that many American golfers think like Kim and absolutely love playing links golf? Quite possibly.
The world number 56 spoke after his opening round at The Renaissance Club on Thursday, and offered his opinion on links golf in general.
He said: “I love links golf. First time I came over was in 2018 at Carnoustie for The Open Championship, and I fell in love as soon as I stepped on that golf course. Any type of links golf I truly love and I really believe that this is the way that golf was meant to be played.“
The beauty of links golf is that the terrain is untouched. The fairways, bunkers and greens are exactly how they were 150 years ago.
Links golf courses are not always the longest, so it will be interesting to see whether they may one day become somewhat redundant, given the ever-increasing advances in technology.
Michael Kim says whether he prefers links golf to PGA Tour courses
Kim is clearly a huge fan of playing golf in its rawest form.
He posted a message about his love for links golf after his opening round at The Scottish Open on Thursday.
Kim said: “How many random links courses would you play before a random TPC course lol? Links golf (even renaissance) is the best. (I don’t really understand the renaissance hate tbh. Not the greatest, not the worst).“
So it’s clear to see that Kim is a huge fan of playing links golf, and usually the players who embrace the challenge end up succeeding in the big tournaments in Britain.
Maybe Kim will be someone to watch out for at The Open at Royal Portrush next week.
