PGA Tour golfer Michael Kim is one of the most fun and interactive players for fans to follow on social media and he’s been engaging with his audience once more today.

Kim is never shy of an opinion via his social media account on X and after seeing a flight delayed today, he gave fans the chance to ask open questions.

In fairness to Kim as well, he answered a huge amount of queries from fans.

The questions ranged from the amateur game and swing tips, to what he does during delays, to things that he’s noticed in the current PGA set up.

All in all, it was a pretty informative Q&A session from Kim.

But a few questions stuck out. And one of those was from a fan who asked if there’s a player and a particular ability on the PGA Tour that stands out.

And answering the question, Kim admitted that he finds Cameron Champ’s ability with the driver pretty ‘special.

The stats back up how good Cameron Champ is with driver

You only need to watch Cameron Champ on TV to know what Michael Kim is referring to here.

Put simply, watching Champ launch the ball down the fairway is one of the greatest sights in all of golf.

This year, he’s averaging a huge 317.2 yards off the tee, putting him second on the entire PGA Tour, behind only Rory McIlroy in that statistic.

Champ was also in the top five last season as well, as he averaged a whopping 317.9 yards off the tee.

Furthermore, Champ also tops the entire charts when it comes to the percentage of drives hit longer than 320 yards or more out of his total. Impressively, Champ has pummelled it more than 320 an impressive 121 times out of 310 attempts. (Stats from the PGA Tour website)

In comparison, McIlroy has managed to hit 141 of his drives over 320 but with more attempts at 476.

Of course, Cameron Champ is woefully out of form at the moment and has missed the cut nine times from 12 PGA events this season.

But if he can rediscover a bit more of his game and keep this sort of driving up, then he’ll soon be back in contention.
