Michael Kim continues his PGA Tour season at the Scottish Open this week, with hopes of playing The Open Championship right after.

Kim just missed the cut at the John Deere Classic, the most recent tournament in the PGA Tour schedule.

The event was won by Brian Campbell, who battled past Emiliano Grillo in a playoff at TPC Deere Run on Sunday.

Both players finished on 18-under to force a playoff, while one-time PGA Tour winner Kim missed the cut on three-under.

Kim won the tournament back in 2018, but now turns his attention to the Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club.

He has, however, also continued to keep one eye on The Open Championship, which takes place at Royal Portrush next week.

Kim criticised the R&A earlier this month for leaving him in the dark about a potential appearance at the major.

And he has now provided another update on the situation, with Kim sharing his thoughts from the John Deere Classic on X.

Among those was a comment on Portrush which read: “No official word yet but I think I should be qualified for The Open Championship. First time I’ll be playing all 4 majors in a year.”

How has Michael Kim performed at the 2025 major championships?

As Kim mentioned, he looks set to take on all four major championships this year, having impressed at the first three.

He has really taken his game to another level this season, where he has made 17 cuts from his 21 appearances so far.

His results include one runner-up finish at the WM Phoenix Open, along with three top 10s and six top 25s.

At The Masters, Kim finished T27, and followed that up with T55 and T50 places at the PGA Championship and US Open respectively.

A place at The Open is now on his agenda, with Kim among the players looking to fine-tune their games for the major in Scotland this week.

World top three Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele are also taking on the Scottish Open, which was won by home favourite Robert MacIntyre in 2024.
