Ryan Fox defeated Sam Burns in a play-off to lift the Canadian Open trophy on Sunday.

Fox and Burns both kind of threw it away at different times throughout the play-off at the Canadian Open.

However, Fox did produce some magic on the fourth play-off hole, when he rifled a three-wood to around eight feet, before two-putting for a birdie and the win.

It was a dramatic ending to regulation play after Cameron Young just missed out on the Canadian Open play-off.

Burns shot a final round 62, whilst Fox rolled in a 20-foot putt to force the play-off with the American.

Two PGA Tour wins in a month now for the man from New Zealand, that’s some going.

Whilst he’s not a massive name in America, he has been a proven winner on the DP World Tour throughout his career.

He’s a very popular player amongst the fans as well, due to his down-to-earth nature.

And Fox’s fellow PGA Tour pro Michael Kim noticed something interesting about the 38-year-old Kiwi during the final round in Canada.

Kim is well-known for his social media presence.

The PGA Tour player often interacts with fans on X, and he was clearly very invested in the play-off at Osprey Valley on Sunday night.

Kim took to his X account after Fox’s play-off victory over Burns and made an observation about the long-hitting Kiwi.

And it was something that a lot of people on social media had noticed throughout the final round in Canada as well.

The 31-year-old said, Ryan Fox’s pace of play is aspirational.

Kim is right, Fox’s pace of play really is something that other tour pros should be aspiring to.

The sad thing is that the 38-year-old is very much the exception to the rule in professional golf.

There is a real issue with slow play on the PGA Tour right now, and something drastic has to happen to fix it.

Lucas Glover’s plan to eradicate slow play

Glover is well known for his disdain of slow play.

The great thing about the 2009 US Open champion is that he has actually come up with a genuine plan to fix things.

Glover believes slow play is something that needs to be addressed not just on the PGA Tour, but at every single level of the game.

Here is Glover’s nine-point plan to help fix slow play in the game of golf:

That all makes perfect sense. Something has to change, and fast – excuse the pun.

If every PGA Tour player could move at speeds similar to Ryan Fox does, the game would be much healthier as a result.
