The PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Playoffs are now down to the final two events of the season, and Michael Kim has made a promise ahead of the BMW Championship.
The BMW Championship is being held at Caves Valley this week, just like it was four years ago, and Kim will be hoping for a good week in order to progress to the FedEx Cup finale at East Lake next week.
The 32-year-old has enjoyed an extremely solid 2025 PGA Tour season, with three top-10s and one runner-up finish to his name so far.
However, Kim endured a tough week at the FedEx St. Jude Championship last week when he was handed a two-stroke penalty on day three for taking an incorrect drop.
It could actually be argued that the one-time PGA Tour winner is more famous for his social media presence than he is for his golf.
Kim never shies away from engaging in golfing debates on X, and he took to the social media platform on Wednesday to make an emphatic promise about the upcoming BMW Championship.
Michael Kim makes promise about the winning score at the BMW Championship
Kim has once again been active on his X account ahead of this week’s penultimate FedEx Cup Playoff event.

Patrick Cantlay won the BMW Championship the last time it was held at Caves Valley, with a score of 27-under par for the week.
Kim took to X on Wednesday and insisted that the same score will not win this week.
He said: “I promise -27 is not going to be the winner’s score this year haha.“
Kim then compared Caves Valley to Memorial Park – the home of the Texas Children’s Houston Open.
The 2018 John Deere Classic champion said: “Long tough course. Rough isn’t too bad this week. Back to rye grass which is nice. Greens aren’t crazy firm or soft but lots of slopes. Reminds me of Houston a little bit with more rough.“
Caves Valley has definitely been made a lot harder since the event was last held there in 2021, with more undulation in the greens.
The par for the course has also changed from a 72 to a 70, so that in itself will take eight strokes of the winning score from 2021!
Smylie Kaufman says one green at Caves Valley is a ‘hot topic’
One green at Caves Valley is causing much chatter amongst players and caddies this week, according to Smylie Kaufman.
Kaufman said: “The 5th hole at Caves Valley has been a hot topic with all of the players and caddies this week. An extremely shallow green with tricky slopes throughout.“
Caves Valley will clearly represent a very difficult test for Kim and his fellow PGA Tour pros at the BMW Championship this week.
However, it still wouldn’t be a major shock if a score in the mid-high teens under par ended up winning. As the slogan says, these guys are good!
